Waterfall and Stage Gate Approaches
This course covers waterfall and stage gate approaches to project management, with a focus on applying these approaches to design projects. Waterfall and stage gate approaches follows a series of stages or phases, with clear deliverables at the end of each stage. A “stage gate” can be added between stages to review the project status and make a “go” or “no go” decision to move to the next stage.
Stage gate approaches are compared to an agile approaches. Applying stage-gate approaches to design-build applications are covered. Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI) is explained as it helps determine the stage and level of completeness of a project. Cost estimate classes at different completion stages are explained.
